HIMCR #134 - For a Loved One

Doing the weaving on this card drove me nuts. The strips were easy enough to cut but boy I tell you weaving it was crazy. They moved and slid and unraveled. I glued portions of it down thinking that would make it easier. But if I forgot where I put the glue or moved it to high when lifting the strips the the blue wouldn't hold. Let me tell you it was a mess. It took me 2 hours hour to get the weaving right. Just the weaving. And I got mad and I took 2 breaks and I got mad some more..But I was determined. I had a vision... LOL. It took me about 20min to finish the rest of the card. It came out ok. I wish it was neater and more even with the weaving. But to say the least..after I was done I took my butt to bed for the night. I think I watched a movie. This was last week. So here it is. One of my hardest tries so far ever I think.


Pinterest Inspiration

This card was inspired by a card that I saw on pinterest. The color idea was from my daughter. I just asked her to give me 2 colors quick without thinking. And she said blue and purple. She did know what I wanted the colors for. So that kinda made my task a little hard. I didn't think those colors went together well at all. But I did it. Ir came out cute. The plaid paper was cute from a sheet but the rest were scraps. I'm pleased how it came out. And my daughter said that's why you asked me for 2 colors. Its cute.

Now this card was motivated by the fact that I hate this color combo. I have seen the combo on curtains, bedding pillows etc. I don't like it. I think its an ugly combination. I saw this ribbon at meijers and thought what the heck. I am forcing myself to work out of my comfort zone. Step out and start working with colors that I don't normally work with. So this is my take on it. And this card is also made from scraps. And I am pleased with this card to. And look at me trying to put a lil scrunch up with the ribbon.

Clean and simple-HIMCR challenge 133

This is my entry to the clean and simple HIMCR challenge.
I embossed the soft yellow paper(here it looks cream.. but its yellow) and cut out 2 pink butterflies on my wonderful cricut and added it to the embossed butterfly for dimension. Done all the edges in hot pink stamp ink. In addition stamped a butterfly and gave it rhinestone spine accents. I lightly twisted yellow and pink accent string together and crisscrossed it around the card. I felt like doing a simple card 2 days ago and low and behold it fit for this weeks challenge. Didn't even know about the challenge until tonight. Busy week.Yay me!!

Gingerbread Couple

I purchased 2 gingerbread kits for myself and my daughter. When we sat down to start decorating we had no idea what we were going to do. I gathered left over candy we had and this is what we came up with.

 

I did the girl and she did the boy. Some how my daughters gingerboy had an accident. They were stored off to the side so I don't know how he received an injury. But she mended him and kept it moving. I think my looks like a clown which was not my intent but my daughter says he lovers her no matter what her occupation is. LOL. Anyway we had fun decorating and chitchatting and laughing at our selves. Priceless,

Christmas Cards and a Few More

Here are just a few of my Christmas cards. I am disappointed to say that this is not all of them. I made approximately 20 cards  and was so busy sending them off that I forgot to take a pic of them. Some of them were pretty cute if  I do say so myself. I really wish I had remembered to take pic of them. There was a couple of shaker cards. First attempt was ok but the second one was on point. I think they show some of my talent and skills that I have been trying to nurture. Trust me they were really good ones. But here are pictures of the 1's I did remember to take a pic of. I think I am getting better. I did the gift card route for my sis and my daughter. So I made gift card holders for them also. There is even a fall card in the batch. I also had 2 birthdays..for the new year..jan. 1st and 3rd. Hope you like them. Im getting there. Im getting there.
